What Sharpener is
Sharpener is a web application that helps you turn ideas into structured product plans. You have a conversation with an AI-guided flow, and Sharpener produces a document you can use to start building.
What we collect
- Account info - your email address and authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Conversations and projects - the messages you send, AI responses, and any documents generated during your sessions. This is stored so you can return to your work.
- Uploaded files - if you upload markdown files during a session, their contents are processed as part of that conversation step and stored alongside your project data.
- Usage data - page views, feature usage, and session information collected through analytics tools to help us understand how Sharpener is used and where it needs improvement.
- Payment info - processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card number or banking details on our servers.
How we use your data
- To provide the core service - processing your conversations through AI and generating documents.
- To maintain your account and projects so you can pick up where you left off.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To improve Sharpener based on aggregate usage patterns.
Third-party services
Sharpener relies on a small number of third-party services to operate. Your data may be processed by:
- AI services - your conversation messages are sent to third-party AI providers to generate responses. These providers process your input to produce output and may retain data according to their own policies.
- Hosting and database - your account and project data is stored using third-party cloud infrastructure and database services.
- Payments - subscription and payment processing is handled by Stripe.
- Analytics - we use analytics tools to understand usage patterns and improve the product.
Data retention
Your account and project data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all associated project data is permanently removed from our database. Anonymized and aggregated usage analytics collected prior to deletion may be retained.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all associated project data at any time from your account settings. If you need help, email privacy@sharpener.dev.
Cookies
Sharpener uses cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and analytics. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across other websites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the application or by email. Continued use of Sharpener after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
